Jakarda Adele
Adele is a lovely broodmare, who has produced quality showstock (Arctic Arnie and Calais Anastasia). Has been running with Calais Total Contender, and would make a fantastic investment for someone starting out down the show/stud/breeding path - two for the price of one!

Please do not hesitate to get in touch for more information and to arrange a meet n greet.
Other stock may become available in the near future - watch this space...

Purchasing A Pony from Calais

Buying a pony can be an exciting and sometimes daunting experience.  Before embarking on such a big purchase from Calais Miniature Ponies ("Calais") here are some frequently asked questions and answers to assist potential buyers.

The Calais philosophy
Owning a miniature pony can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience, and great pride is placed in trying to match ponies to homes where they will meet those expectations. However, buying a new pony is a two party process, and whether or not the new pony works out in the long term is largely down to what happens when the buyer takes the pony home.

The role that Calais plays is to assist buyers in making as informed a choice as possible, and providing ongoing advice and assistance where possible.  However, buying a pony is not like buying a car or an iPad.  If you buy an iPad, provided you follow the instructions, it should work just as well for you, your kids or any visitor that might happen to want to use it. Ponies are not like that. They are all different, and different handlers can bring out different behaviours - good or bad. We have done the ground work, however, your commitment and role as new owner is to continue this process and we are willing to guide and help as necessary.

Will you tell me everything I need to know about your ponies?
When you come to see the ponies "what you see is what you get".
We do not hide true colours or natures, and take pride in our natural presence. We are happy to answer any questions you might have, and will endeavour to provide you with as much information as you will need to make an informed decision.
We rely on the information you provide about your abilities and past experience in determining whether we think a pony might suit or not.  So telling us as much as possible about you and your needs before coming out will help us to assist.  However, in the final analysis, the decision to purchase the pony or not is yours to make.

Can we come back for a second viewing?
We recommend this and do our best to accommodate it, however some of our ponies are in high demand and we may have a wait list of eligible homes. In which case it may not be possible to arrange a second viewing.

I've made an appointment to see one of your ponies, can I be certain that you won't sell it to someone else in the meantime?
Absolutely. Once a time has been confirmed we won't show the pony to any other prospective buyer.  We try to answer calls and arrange viewings in the order in which we receive them as much as possible.  Sometimes where a pony is in high demand we may show it to the next person on the list if the first caller is unable to come out in a reasonable time.

I've decided not to buy the pony you showed me.
That's completely fine, we understand and don't take it personally in any way. Please let us know either way so we can move on to the next buyer. We are not in a hurry to sell our ponies and prefer to take the time to ensure they are going to the right home.
It is frustrating when we don't hear back at all, especially if we have a waitlist. We know how disappointing it can be to have a pony sold out from under you, and we try very hard to ensure we give a buyer who has been out to see our ponies every chance to get back to us with an answer before showing the pony to other buyers. If we haven't heard from you in 24 hours after the viewing we will assume you are not interested and will make arrangements for the next buyer to view the pony. We don't expect a final decision to be made in such a short period of time, but a simple email or phone call will make sure that the process of purchasing a pony goes smoothly and everyone involved is informed.

Thank you for your interest in Calais Miniature Ponies.

Yours,

Maree
